Quality time

Ahhh. quality time with the kiddos :)  We were lucky they were all with us but that also kinda meant there was a bit of chaos lol!  I was here there and everywhere with them.  Much treasured and very rare time with my god daughter Emily reading, a book about summer how lovely :D

Lauren is getting big already too!  Here she is saying cheese to me :)

Liam kept himself to himself for a little while, colouring in

Kenzie came with his tunnel

and then soon after all the kiddos were playing!

the funniest thing was Liam had to go, so Kenz had to let him have a quick go in the tunnel... and quick was the word, as soon after Liam had gone into it, Kenzie climbed in there with him lol!

Mum was also sat in Gramp's chair, giving Felix lots of fuss.  Her hair is growing back now and she's much happier now it's not in knots.

Writing bug

I remember when I was 14, I sat down and I wrote a 400 page story, which (if I do say so myself) I quite enjoyed, but I'm biased ;) and that story will never see the light of day because it was pretty much Hanson Fanfic.  My current story is a bit of an odd thing for me to talk about really, but it's a story I want to tell. I recall it all fondly to anyone who will listen.

Now it's about an old crush of mine from back in the day, a guy I consider one of my best friends still to this day although we don't get to chat half as much anymore because life has pretty much got in the way.  Looking at it, it may be a little weird to be writing it, but a thing I really want to do this year is to hold a book that I have written in my hands in its published form :) And what better thing to write about than personal experience. I will post draft chapters as and when, and hope that anyone who reads it enjoys it.

Speaking of crushes, the hottest guy in the world cooked us a yummy dinner tonight :)  Here he is playing WoW:

Back to Attwoolls

You will be mine...

This has to be THE tent.  I love it, it's the perfect size for the two of us. It has a Sewn in Groundsheet, has the "quick erect system" which means it's apparently a piece of cake to put up (I will be asking for an instore demo lol)  It has 2 bed pods which means one can be used for additional storage... But look at that price tag. Oh Chatsworth... you WILL be mine. And the carpet, so that the SIG is protected from my butter fingers ;)

The funniest thing is Gareth said it seems too big!  I think he'd change his mind once it was set up and our equipment was inside (ooo, moon chair!)

*sigh*  Maybe I do having a camping addiction.

Torrential rain!

I sort of wished we didn't take the minor detour to the sorting office to go pick up my studio calico kit. There was a thunder storm which had just started, and once I got came out of the building with my box, it was pouring.  But once at Tesco it was hailing as well.  Gareth ran off , and I opened the door and it was like drowning - I opened my mouth to call to G but I was just gargling water. The rain was coming down so much, I was completely soaked through within seconds and I couldn't move, I couldn't see, the rain was just coming down so heavy and so fast!  I felt like I had just jumped into a pool I was so wet.  I just couldn't wait to get home, and once I did I just had to take everything off and stick my dressing gown on.  It was horrible!

and I will leave you this gem from bed the other night:
G: Kirsty
K: I'm sleeping
G: but Kirsty...
K: I'm sleeping
G: But can you get me a drink?
K: *fake snoring*
G: That's not funny.

Geocaching

Gareth and I had been trying to decide what to do together. Something that we could get a bit of exercise, and spend some quality time out and about - not on our butts at home playing on the computer!

So I heard about geocaching, looked into it, and we decided that's what we'd do :)  Gareth got the app for his phone, and we went out this morning.

The first geocache we went to find is local, but the hilarious thing is, it wasn't what I was expecting.  That's why we ended up walking to another one instead, and by chance I found it and then realised that it was a tiny thing we were looking for and so went back to the first one as we pretty much went by it to go back home anyway.

How small?  This small - this is the log book that rolls up inside:

Here's the phone on which we were navigating:

We had walked quite a way, so we rested at home for a bit while I potted some plants in the hanging basket, and then I just had to go out again and search for a few more, with Gareth in tow... and this time we found 2 more slightly larger ones:

And I left some moo stickers and a card in this one, and in the other just a moo card:

Camping

Awww, 1984...

Me and mum camping {84}

and our lush tent:

And then there's 1997:
Me and mum camping {97}

and our itty bitty tent:

Our tent

So what's up with the nostalgia?  I want to go camping and have been taken over by camping fever lol! Poor Gareth got dragged around Attwools this afternoon (practically kicking and screaming) and we found a cute tent... but we're awaiting the brouchers for a few of the camp sites we've (read: I've) been looking at before we start thinking about that.  It's been so long since I've been camping, after that camping trip dad got a lush 6 berth tent (sadly, no photos from that trip!) but since gave it to my Uncle Mark so he could work on his car if it was raining.

But for me, the tent (Khyam Chatsworth) would be worth the investment if we would do it as a regular thing. Going abroad is expensive... Staying in a static caravan or a lodge etc is still expensive... Camping has to be the way to go... Ok, ok, so the British weather is absolute cack, but that's why we were looking for a tent with a decent sized living space.

The coolest thing I saw in the shop though was a camping bunk bed! LOL! Seriously it looked so cool.

As for the fact there are lots of past entries means I finally figured out how to transfer it over (only I had far too much for my 2MB upload limit!)

Loving the soundtrack

Rascal Flatts - Bless the Broken Road
I set out on a narrow way
Many years ago
Hoping I would find true love
Along the broken road
But I got lost a time or two
Wiped my brow and kept pushin’ through
I couldn’t see how every sign
Pointed straight to you
CHORUS
That every long lost dream
Led me to where you are
Others who broke my heart
They were like northern stars
Pointing me on my way
Into your loving arms
This much I know is true
That God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to you
I think about the years I spent
Just passin’ through
I’d like to have the time I lost
And give it back to you
But you just smile and take my hand
You’ve been there, you understand
It’s all part of a grander plan
That is comin’ true
Chorus
Now I’m just rolling home
Into my lover’s arms
This much I know is true
That God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to you
That God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to you

Such a pretty song :) I've been sat listening to the Hannah Montana Soundtrack all week. Even been sat listening to it at work during the afternoons... and seeing as I've been quiet whilst listening no one had any quarrels lol. I played it to G and I've kinda adopted this song as "our" song :)  I really love the song "Spotlight" as well. That's a Hannah song, which I thought was odd, it seemed more of a Miley song than a Hannah song.  Finished the book on Monday, and that's because I only read a little on Sunday as I knew I'd finish it and I'd have nothing to read during lunch at work.

Hurrah for Easter break! Off to Cardiff tomorrow - we have easter eggs for G's bros, otherwise just a weekend of spring cleaning and hopefully a random trip to Attwools lol. I just love wandering around the camping stuff.

Hoedown Throwdown

My new Hannah/Miley goodies arrived yesterday :)  I still really don't care if Hannah Montana is supposed to be for kids and I'm 26 but I love the show, and after sitting and reading half of the book so far, I could completely relate to Miley's bullying issues and the main reason I decided to check out the show in the first place was because I love the idea of the show - a teenage girl is a secret popstar, and I dreamed so much of being a famous singer (but then, which teenage girl didn't).

Miley and Hannah

And I've been learning the hoedown throwdown lol. I think I've nearly got it down!
