Gained a pound

How on EARTH did I gain a POUND!?!?! Needless to say after last week staying the same this has now made me absolutely mortified. Though in MMEW form, I shall say "so that happened" and I'm getting back on it with more gusto!

I have realised my main drawback right now is working out. Once upon a time, I pretty much did something every single night/day be it gymnastics, dance, or karate/taekwondo/kickboxing. I was always active. I love dancing, granted I look very silly while I do it, completely awkward even (though I was pretty good at ballroom and latin - I have lots of medals and exam certificates to prove it!)  but I enjoy it all the same. I have took the plunge and bought 2 sports bras. Heck I paid £16 each for 1 white and 1 black bra, you better believe I'm going to use it, I don't like to waste money! My provisional workout week will look like this: Monday: Zumba, Tuesday: Running if dry; nike training club or choice of workout if wet (now I don't run and can't run. This could be entertaining, but have signed up to rockmyrun because if I have to work out to Black Eyed Peas "I Gotta Feeling" one more time I might just give up entirely!) Thursday: Workout DVD. I have plenty. Saturday: Workout at my parents home gym in my old bedroom - see I have NO EXCUSES! Sunday: Rest/wii or kinect workout, depending on how the week goes and if hubby is attached to his game. I managed to "book" in Zumba on the kinect once a week ;) . I work lates on Wednesday and Fridays so trying to fit in anything would be pushing it, besides I need "recovery" days. I can do this. I will do this.

So that's the plan. I actually downloaded a timetable app to enable me to fit everything in. I have started by blocking time out for exercise, then I shall start by assigning my tasks time slots. I am even hoping to schedule some "scrapbooking" time in. Meg has been the best these last few months as I try and sort things out with my home life, and I look forward to being able to jump back into the creative team. I am doing my best to try and plan my personal work (yes including a weekly blog post!) and creative team duties alongside some me time, chores and time with the husband.

Poorly car
I'm pretty much used to my glasses now after 2 weeks. The longest I've ever had to adjust to new glasses! So if I can't get anywhere with finding out what's not quite right with them and trying to focus... I think I'll manage. After all I managed with squinting at the tv trying to read the listings on it for long enough with my old glasses! And I'm starting to have enough of stressing over things as it's always one thing after another. Vodafone said they'd waiver the early termination fee after they gave me a PAC code that expired before my contract did and couldn't give me a new PAC that would cover me until the 23rd April. Then, joy of joys, my exhaust on my car starts rattling to the point even going over a pot hole would make me grab on to the steering wheel for dear life hoping that the exhaust wouldn't fall off so I managed to squeeze it into my lunch break, as my only other option was Saturday morning... and I have another eye test on Saturday morning to make sure my prescription is correct, so I had no other choice but to squeeze it into lunch time as I literally can't do it any other time. I honestly haven't had a full lunch break to myself. I have been either racing home to fit in the extra laundry I had this week (might as well get it on the line while it's nice!) ringing around Boots/Vodafone/Tesco etc sorting things out, getting my exhaust looked at or getting a new back box fitted to it. Tomorrow lunch time you better believe I am sitting on my ass reading my kindle which I've not even picked up since I managed to finish One Day a couple of weeks back ;)

It's summer in March!

It's all a little overwhelming and I am in desperate need of a break... The Easter break can not come soon enough, and I am ever so grateful for those 4 days to catch up on some things that need to be done. I just hope we have glorious weather that weekend as we have had all this week! I can't believe it's been practically summer temperatures here in March! It seems a shame to be couped up in a freezing cold office  on the side that gets no sun ;)

Move more eat well March

So I have lost a pound each week in the first two weeks but didn't lose a pound this week, however it wasn't a weight gain which is all good and my BMI actually went down, so in my eyes that is still a victory!

That kit I was working on is pretty much completed and has been for a while, and on top of my wunderlist right now is to get the TOU written, split the kit between Hanson crowd & everyday crowd, zip, upload & link up :) I thank you all for your patience & understanding as things have been busy & hectic as usual! On top of my main worries I have my mobile contract expiring soon & I need to cancel within the next 2 days, trying to adjust to new glasses but having issues with them and I had my eye test in tesco & glasses made in Boots so a headache of going between the 2 to sort out what the problem actually is, the weather is picking up now so chores are extending out into the garden where we have a flower border that is positively awful, constantly growing weeds and we have some things we'd like to plant. I've weeded a bunch already but still have a lot left to do. Oy.

BeforeAfter (still needs work)
I also need to sit down and sort out my domain, the current sites on it & how best to present & manage them as I still haven't even got to finishing off my Hanson crafts site since Hanson.net cut their hosting and I've had to just sort of upload what I had over to my domain & figure "I'll sort it out later as I have more important things to do right now".

Lynda.com certificates :)

I did thoroughly enjoy my week of free Lynda .com training though. I did a refresher on web design fundamentals, did a website from photoshop to dreamweaver course & something that really took my fancy: hands on magazine workshop, doing a magazine spread in InDesign. I was positively giddy with learning & taking some time to sit & watch the videos. I vow to save up some money and take a month to learn some cool new things. Not at all career related but for me. I won't need to learn how to do a logo (I have played around and made my own in the past!)  but I think it's a cool skill to have, and making book covers in InDesign ready for the next installment of our trip report but of course ;) and I want to brush up on my HTML skills. I remember back in the good old days when I spent entire Sundays coding my website  locked away in my bedroom and running it through the validator to check that it was good coding! Ah, the days back when we had Greymatter blogs and numerous "skins" that we coded in php so that the visitors could choose their favourite. I do miss those days, especially as I lost touch with it all and that's a bad thing in an ever changing environment.

Well, many other things calling my name that needs to be done. People waiting on me to do my turn on Draw Something as well. All being well I hope to be back on Sunday with a little something for you all for being such superstars!

Itchy itchy, scratch scratch

Calamine

I had the misfortune of having Shingles for the last almost two weeks, but thankfully they have started to go down so I will be able to hold my little nephew soon enough! To play it safe as I do not know which of my cousins children have had chicken pox or not (even though the shingles are on my back and are covered) I have simply avoided my nan's house today and last Saturday as much as it pained me to do so. It actually enabled me & Gareth to have some quality time together out and about.

We have somehow managed to get a Phineas & Ferb drawstring bag to go around the parks from the Disney Store, along with a little Donald Duck outfit, as we have not yet bought anything for our new little nephew, and to make up for his homemade colouring book & Toy Story Magnets for Christmas we got Oliver a Gruffalo play set. Shortly I shall be making some bath bombs so I can have some nice relaxing scented baths this week & shall bag some up for my sister-in-law, because us girls need some pamper time! I just need to brainstorm something nice for my brother, he certainly deserves it :) I think that it will be Pinterest to the rescue once again.

I hope you are all having a nice weekend! I have got myself the wonderful Wunderlist app for my phone & for the computer so I can keep a track of my personal to dos :) Nothing like ticking things off! Though mine are current;y random ones from "finish digital kit" (I assure you all, it's completed, it needs zipping, packing, terms of use writing out etc) to "plant tomatoes & beans & weed the garden".

Well, those bath bomb aren't going to make themselves, and it's another thing to tick off the list. Until next time!
