Family BBQ

I had a fantastic weekend :) Well, apart from spending 3 and a half hours waiting for Gareth's car to get fixed LOL. We visited my nan where it was just my parents and my brother's family, before we headed off to Cardiff to celebrate our anniversary, hanging out with my youngest Brother in Law.

Sunday was super fun! Besides the glorious weather we'd had for days Gareth and myself went to Matalan with the last of the gas/electric money that we had leftover once the central heating was switched off and the evenings got lighter ;) and after we had some food from a burger place on Saturday :) so I got a couple of new outfits which was MUCH needed! Then it was to my brother's house for a BBQ :D

Elijah & Aunty Kirsty

It was nice to grab the SLR. I got some quality Oliver & Elijah time, and as we played with the little swimming froggy in Oliver's sand & water pit it was suggested that while the weather was gorgeous we should head to my sister in law's aunt's house to swim in her pool if no one else was using it. Lucky us, we could go, and I sat on a float in the pool along with Oliver as we paddled around, and then I got to walk around the shallow area holding on to Elijah. Stewart suggested we could make it a weekly thing on a Sunday morning, so I can't wait! Though I seriously learned my lesson as my beloved Hanson symbol ring and wedding ring got severely tarnished so I won't be wearing them in the pool again. Thankfully my parents fix everything and I took my jewellery to them and my dad sorted it. Dad for the win!

Thursday is the new Friday

We've had glorious sunshine all week so far and it's heading into the weekend. It's funny that when the weather is nice, it really helps perk you up when things are not exactly going to plan.
Our anniversary was just really a regular day as we decided to celebrate on an upcoming weekend. Wow those 2 years have flown by! Still after quite a few frustrating hiccups for Gareth this week we decided while the weather was nice we would jump in the car and head out for the day on Saturday to escape. Well hopefully escape as our first lot of plans on Saturday is to get his car into the garage (just one of the hiccups!) before we see my nan then be on our merry way.
Zumba legend
I have been happily doing my Zumba almost every evening, and I have the blisters on my feet to prove it lol. My BMI has dropped a little but my weight has not. This is super hard work & I don't notice a difference except my weight going up & down :/ I was hoping the trousers would feel a little less tight!

treasury
I was back perusing Etsy this week. I made my very first treasury too! I have something in my cart ready to be checked out after pay day and I am really looking forward to it!

Now for my evening curled up on the sofa after my chores, watching my fave tv shows :) I definitely love my Thursday nights!

Little bit of silver paint

So a lot of my hoodies are either (1) falling apart or (2) too small. I love my Hanson hoodies with a passion though my Walk one is a little too small for me right now *sniff* (well it IS an extra small after all!), so I decided instead of the top that I wanted to decorate, I was going to do something a little different. So a trip to Matalan and a black hoodie later, I got home to cut the Hanson symbol inside a hidden Mickey (my two loves: Disney and Hanson!) and I just hoped that it would work! I ironed the freezer paper on, painted on the metallic silver paint, let it dry learning a lot as I peeled the paper away once it had done... and it's not perfect but I am super happy at my new hoodie! The DIY will be up at Hanson Crafts this weekend I hope :) it's so nice and soft to wear, I can quite happily snuggle down in it! It's a nice little comfort while at work.

Kelly Purkey's post was something that was quite refreshing to read. I appreciate those kind of posts, especially when I see her photos and swoon over them and think how lucky she is.
And whose life doesn't look lush and gorgeous when you add a little Valencia filter on Instagram

I'm slowly settling now, things being all over the place isn't really freaking me out now. In fact, I managed to fit in a Zumba session (a 45 minute one on medium intensity... what was I thinking!?) I weighed in on Monday. A pound gained in two weeks, could have been worse but I still have 10 lb to lose.

But I felt good for it. Such relief for things to start feeling "normal" :) And look at our green beans and our tomatoes!

Trying to come out of hibernation though :) but on Tuesday the weather girl said "Don't be fooled, it is spring not winter!" come on spring I know you're here hiding somewhere. But in the meantime, snuggling on the sofa for big bang theory and then how I met your mother... Thursdays are my new favourite!

Living in a cocoon

I will be incredibly relieved once things start to settle. We're only in the second week but this is so hard! The last week or so I have ploughed into sorting my websites out. I had a lot to sort out, but I'm done & happy!
I have been sorting out back ups & notes etc by using Dropbox, google drive & Evernote. It's nice to start organising my "digital life".

When I haven't been doing this & trying to "cook" (I use quotation marks because I'm getting there slowly! Though Wednesday night I burned dinner so had to order pizza) I have been a little in hibernation mode. The weather here is certainly not spring like. It's more so autumn, and so myself & Gareth have been happily watching all 6 seasons of How I Met Your Mother on DVD.

Hot choc
No I haven't worked out, in fact I gained a pound last week and refuse to weigh in this week because I'm not making any progress and these couple of weeks while I'm still adjusting I have been quite happily living in my little cocoon swooning over New York trying my best at cooking meals like spaghetti bolognese. I will try some lower calorie meals after a little more practise from my student cook book! It'll be much better when I finally shake this awful cold too.  I think for the rest of this week I will quite happily continue with cuddles, wishing I get to see New York one day and that I wish we had friends like on How I Met Your Mother :)
